Pictures or it didn’t happen. I am pleasantly pooped and very pleased with this ride!! I am taking it day by day..I am really good at talking myself out of training, but when I just DO it, I’m fine and so happy I did!! It is really hot today—83, which is not hot for some of you southerners, but in Colorado, this is dry, hot heat! I was sweating so much, but I love the feeling of flying through the wind and getting a little relief. I don’t really know where to ride around my house…I get nervous on streets with heavy traffic, so I explored a little today. The first half hour was spent on hills and that made my legs stronger, because I said so, and then I rode down south some and coming back hopped on the trail. I love you Santa Fe trail system! It’s way better than always riding on the roads, and it’s long and paved, so I found a new riding spot. I road down to Fillmore, you all don’t know where that is, but just for my reference, and up to Woodmen 3 times. Haha Almost 30 miles in 2 hours. I’m getting better at pace on the flats and downhills, but the uphills still are really hard for me. I am sooooooo slow on them, but I will get better if I just keep trying.
Literally in the last 10 minutes, I was coming to a stop light to turn onto my road and unclipped left, like I always do, and I was fine, and then I spilled to the right. hahah I took my very first fall from clip user error…haha Lucky no cars were coming…I think only two or three people saw. haha I fell right onto my right shoulder, but not cuts. Cuts would be more fun. :) lol Funny times.
Anyway I am pooped! My neck and shoulders are soooo sore from barbell yesterday. Ouch. I came home and got some chocolate milk, took my dog for a small walk, and then proceeded to stretch my legs up a wall. That is my favorite way to stretch. I feel a lot better for getting it done, that’s for sure!! yay!

Congrats on your ride and your clip fall! We all have embarrassing clip stories…they just come with the territory. I fell still clipped in in front of my buildings security camera. And a runner stepped over me. It’s my personal best.

This is an amazing ride I can imagine! Great job. My furthest is 19.3, but we have a 25 mile ride planned soon. Toe clips are too challenging for me- I get stuck in my toe cages! Lol
