I am becoming quite the smoothie professional. I just made a bomb one…its kinda like skinnyforme’s Green Monster…minus the yogurt. If perhaps you’d like to know this bomb smoothie that I just made up…well I’ll tell you.
1 cup milk
1 scoop protein powder
pineapple..mine was fresh
handfull of spinach
YUMMY. Its so sweet and delicious I can’t even tell there is spinach. Nice.
Just had me a great upper workout and now I”m getting my protein smoothie on. Have a great day!
I’d always heard and knew that along with marathon training came more calories burned…but I cant stop eating!!!!! I’m ravenously hungry like a giant t-rex..all of the time!!! I wake up with my stomach gurgling..i’m so hungry it hurts. I eat a massive breakfast…then..by 10 I’m starving again! Snack time!!! and now…it’s 1 and I’m shoveling food into my mouth like it’s going out of style. This is ridiculous…but calories are being burned at the speed of light so I guess it’s only normal to want to eat like a dinosaur. Just sayin

Today I had the worst run I’ve had in a long time. I was already nervous..17 the week before felt good but something about 18 seemed hard to me. I went into it defeated…6:15am..trekking the trail before the sun is even risen with 3 of my closest running friends, Jeanne, Steph, and Andrea. We’re badass. I felt tired after the first 2 miles..I’m sure you’ve all felt like your shoes turned into cement blocks with one workout or another. That is the worst feeling…because you literally cannot push yourself. Long, miserable story short…I made it to about mile 7..but I was still 7 away from home…I slogged/jogged/walked that last 7 miles and it was absolutely awful. I hated every minute of it and I was beating myself up the whole time because I didn’t reach my goal. I’ve had enough good runs, heck, great runs to know what they feel like. Every runner has bad runs…it doesn’t make you weak, it doesn’t make you a wuss…it just means you are human. Even the strongest and most competative athletes have days where they just don’t feel like going. I know that…but someone who is just starting out may not know that. Whoever is reading..if anyone..know that if you are just starting your journey of running or fitness in general, there will be good days and there will be bad days. The bad days are hard…but the good days remind you why you are doing what you are doing and that you are strong and capable. Just remember that whether you have a good day or a bad day…you are strong and powerful and you will get through it.
I am officially on spring break…not going anywhere, not doing anything exciting..BUT I am excited to use this week to do as much working out as I want to! I can actually go to the morning classes I love that I’m usually trapped in school for! I can go to the gym at 10 and lift weights if i feel like it. It’s going to be great.
In fact..I think I’ll go today. I did my long 10 yesterday…but I didn’t do anything friday so I feel like running again today. We’ll see how it goes…I’m just so happy to be on break. It’s the best.
P.S. yesterday was the BOMB. I have to share. My best friend Benee and her mom are all super close and we are the type of people that together you can laugh, cry, torment, or cuddle and everything will be great in the end. It’s the best. So her mom and I have a habit of tormenting each other..but in a good way :) I’m sure you have friends like this. ?? Back over the summer we had a beast water fight in her kitchen. I mean taking the kitchen sprayer thing and hosing everything in our path. It was a lake to say the least. WELL yesterday we just may have topped that!!! That includes whipped cream…sneaking upstairs to ambush her in her bed…it was EVERYWHERE and it was amazing!! Then we ventured to the kitchen..spray hose action again. Then the bathroom! Yep…3 different rooms trashed with whipped cream and water. Best day ever. I had so much fun. I wish I could have a personal photographer follow me around to capture these priceless moments. Oh welll…I’ll always have these precious memories.
Have a great day tumblrs :)
Definately just made the green monster for my ‘lunch’ and I felt like I was eating ice cream/smoothie out of a bowl. Nice work! Ps…I added you on facebook and daily mile..Im not a creeper I promise :)
Welp like the title says…I basically ran 17 miles this morning. You could say I’m excited because…well I AM!!! New record for furthest distance!! woop woop!! We started at the trailhead in palmer lake which is way the heck up there past monument and ran downnnn to woodmen road!! It was great weather…chilly but not awful..not too windy..and sunny! My hands were frozen so I ran with my garmin in my pocket and I think that actually helped a lot because I didn’t look at my distance or pace a million times…everything was going great but then by say…mile 12 or 13 I began to get scared because I was under time constraints. My body didn’t betray me!! All the treadmill bootcamp classes have paid off and I know I can push my body even when it’s tired. I think the 2nd half of my run may have even been faster than the first!! However the second half of it was also hilly which sucked butt because my legs weren’t having those hills. I was literally getting hysterical like kept looking at my watch and panicked several times because I thought I was going to be late to my babysitting appt. I’m not going to lie the exhaustion got to me and I may or may not have slipped into ugly cry phase for like 6 seconds at a time a few times. It was weird…because I was tired obvs but still. haha Anyways I just ran 17 miles betchessssss and I couldn’t be more excited!!!
Hey my workout and non workout peeps…I had a really awesome treadmill workout yesterday and I thought I might share it with ya’ll. I hope you appreciate it as much as I did! It was really challenging but sooo refreshing and it was one of those runs that made you feel strong and confident…like what?? I’m doing this!? Sweet!!
So here you go! :)
Warmup!! Go your base pace, whatever that may be for about 10 minutes. Then you are going to do 12 really hard 90 second speed drills…yes 12. These aren’t just little pushes…these are challenging, strength building, huffing puffing, legs burning speed drills…one’s that by the time you reach that last 30-15 seconds you’re dying for rest.
You do 12 of those, 90 seconds each…and 2:30 rest inbetween. Got it? If you need an idea of where to go, I did 2 at 8.0, 2 at 8.1, 2 at 8.2, 2 at 8.3, 2 at 8.6, and 2 at 9.0…those should be hard. You don’t need to mirror those numbers but you definately want to be working hard. I’m talking 8, 9, mayb even 10 range.
Enjoy!!!! I know I did!
